I love, love, love Lands End for durable casual clothes. They aren't cheap but they last for years. I also love Weekenders. I work in an office so I need dress clothes. Weekenders are soft and comfortable, all machine washable and mix and match. I look professional all day, but feel like I'm wearing my jammies and NEVER have to go to the dry cleaner anymore! I love these clothes so much I actually became a fashion coordinator for the company and now I get them at a discount, which is even better!!

@Kaye - I wear whatever clothes fulfill all the tips above. I will have to have a look at Penney's catalog. Thanks so much for the tip.

I don't know what type of clothes you wear to work, but I have previously used JCPenney's Worthington series of clothes for dress slacks. They are typically $30, but you can find them on sale for $15-$20 and they have proven to be pretty durable for me. I work as a manufacturing engineer, so I have to look professional, but not be afraid to get dirty. I don't mind getting a pair of $19 washable slacks dirty when they hold up to multiple uses and washes.

Trust me though...I feel your pain.
